A powerful and spirited rap song about a 16 year-old girl navigating romance and gender norms, with a determination to fulfil her dreams.
This story was made as part of a workshop with Nishtha in Baruipur in West Bengal in 2017-2018. The participants were young girls from Nishtha’s Kishori Bahini group.
Nishtha is dedicated towards empowering women to fight for equal rights, equal opportunities and equal dignity. Nishtha’s work involves educating girls, empowering girls and women, enabling economic independence, creating inclusive spaces and developing future leaders. Nishtha is working in 225 villages in West Bengal. The girls created audio stories and songs on themes of navigating romance, early marriage, gender norms, they talked about their dreams of dancing and play and their hopes for themselves.
এই শক্তিশালী এবং প্রাণবন্ত র্যাপ গানটি একটি 16 বছর বয়সী মেয়ের সম্পর্কে যে নিজের স্বপ্নগুলি পূরণ করার দৃঢ় সংকল্পের সাথে ভালোবাসা আর জেন্ডার নিয়মগুলি অতিক্রম করা চলেছে
এই ছবিটি 2017-2018 সালে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের বারুইপুরের নিষ্ঠার সাথে একটি কর্মশালার অংশ হিসাবে তৈরি হয়েছিল। অংশগ্রহণকারীরা ছিল নিষ্ঠার কিশোরি বাহিনী দলের যুবতী মেয়েরা।
নিষ্ঠা মহিলাদের ক্ষমতায়নের লক্ষ্যে কাজ করে যাতে তারা সমান অধিকার, সমান সুযোগ এবং সমান মর্যাদা অর্জনের জন্য লড়াই করতে পারে। নিষ্ঠার কাজের মধ্যে আছে মেয়েদের শিক্ষিত করা, মেয়েদের এবং মহিলাদের ক্ষমতায়নে সহায়তা করা, অর্থনৈতিক ক্ষমতায়ন করা, অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক স্থান তৈরি করা এবং ভবিষ্যতের নেতা তৈরী করা। নিষ্ঠা পশ্চিমবঙ্গের 225 টি গ্রামে কাজ করছে। এখানকার মেয়েরা ভালোবাসা বোঝার মতো বিষয়, শিশু বিবাহ, সামাজিক লিঙ্গ সংক্রান্ত রীতি নীতি ইত্যাদির উপর নানা রকম অডিও গল্প এবং গান তৈরি করেছে।তারা নিজেদের জীবনের নাচ, খেলা, আশার স্বপ্ন সম্পর্কেও নানা কথা তুলে ধরেছে।
