The StoryBeings Festival in Mumbai transformed everyday narratives into powerful digital stories, amplifying voices often unheard and celebrating resilience, identity, and personal triumph. This festival created a rare space for attendees to pause, reflect, and reconnect, challenging stereotypes and fostering empathy across diverse communities.
On February 9, 2024, the StoryBeings Festival brought Mumbai’s community together in a celebration of resilience and connection. Hosted at St. Paul’s Institute of Communication Education, the event welcomed stories from marginalised voices—young girls, women, queer, trans, and non-binary individuals—who inspired us to see the world through their eyes.
More than just an event, StoryBeings Mumbai became a movement, using authentic stories as counter-narratives to mainstream portrayals and leaving attendees with new perspectives and a deeper sense of connection.
From films to sound art and visual displays, attendees experienced powerful, first-person narratives that explored identity, resilience, and community.
Mumbai’s local artists used digital tools to bring their unique experiences to life, celebrating creativity and cultural pride.
